Old Port of Montreal
Cruise ship activity well identified.
The Old Port of Montreal Corporation wanted to support and unify all the cruise ship activities on their site. The goal was to present a unified list of events taking into account the fact that all the various cruise lines are operated by independent companies. Identification methods were developed to assist visitors locate the ticket counters. In addition, general identification had to be installed at the front of each pier and on the main ticket gate in order to identify each one of the cruises.
Our challenge was to create a common image representing all the various independent operators, which would be in harmony with the existing Old Port of Montreal brand. Displayed all over the site, this signage would be the beacon guiding all visitors.
As part of our solution, we worked with a common point of reference for every cruise ship company, that being the ticket office. We chose to style them with a modern crown, which harmonizes with the colors of the Old Port. The light blue crown could be seen from afar, and the uniformity of each one reassured the visitor that the activity in question was legitimate. In the end, both visitors and operators were winners with the improvement of the signage.
